This was over in Norwich- excellent show!
This was over in Norwich- excellent show!
Good group- saw them support Sebadoh on halloween '96.
Hah. I refuse to listen to the new Flea album in case I end up liking it.
This album is pretty good, though if you don't like Jan Hammer you might struggle here.
Horacee Arnold - Tales Of The Exonerated Flea Columbia, 1974 Incidentally, I don't think Flea should be exonerated, however good his current solo band is. He should face the appropriate punishment for his past crimes.
I forgot I have this, and couldn't remember what it sounded like, so now playing.
It's good. Quirky fusion heaters, with John Abercrombie and Sonny Fortune.
Ornette Coleman / Charlie Haden - Soapsuds Soapsuds Artists House, 1979
Washing up with the birthday boy
I'm eternally grateful to the friend that gave me a dubbed cassette of ETK, with various other Stereolab tracks added on the end.
Crazy to think that it only took them 18 months to follow this with Dots and Loops.
On a train journey back in 2019, I recalled that the singer of the Little Angels was named Toby Jepson.
The riches continue to elude me.
Cecil Taylor Segments II (Orchestra of two Continents) - Winged Serpent (Sliding Quadrants) Leo Records, 1985
The cast of the TV show Dinnerladies
I've just noticed the similarity between the pattern of the tabards from Dinnerladies and the sleeve of Winged Serpent (Sliding Quadrants) by Cecil Taylor.

Jackie McLean & The Cosmic Brotherhood - New York Calling Steeplechase, 1975
This is a good record

This is a really good question.
Nothing springs to mind immediately.
It's a good excuse to share and relisten to this one, just in case-
youtu.be/u437tX1jca4?...
You've already heard them cause you're cooler than me and you have better trainers, but I caught Germ Lattice tonight (supporting the mighty Rattle).
Well good, is my review.
I daresay even - sick.
I often ask "you for coffee?"
Wayne Shorter - Odyssey Of Iska Blue Note, 1971
Back on this, waiting until I hear a cowbell or a maraca so I can say "that's Weezer's Dad"
Excellent, thank you.
That looks good. I read The Singularity a while back and really enjoyed it, so I must dig into some more Buzzati.
Just needless and wasteful when they could just write the price in pencil on the first page
Don Cherry - Relativity Suite JCOA, 1973
A quick one before I cook dinner
There's a small green junction box near me that has 'The Fart Of Wanksy' scrawled on it.
Nat Birchall - Cosmic Language Jazzman, 2017
Nat Birchall - Cosmic Language
Raga Jazz? Maybe, I don't know. Gorgeous record though.
Tenor sax, harmonium, bass and drums is a great set up.
I'll keep a look out for that- looks good. Helps that morris (autocorrected to mortis) dancers give me the creeps..
Excellent.
What's the book?
It's good to hoover to!
The only minus is that it's not very similar to either Gong nor Slayer. Still worth a listen though.
If you find Sunn 0))) a bit too 'busy', then I can recommend Gong Slayer. Long(ish) form drones made purely on gongs.

My husband @mjowen174.bsky.social is very down and itβs difficult to see.
He had a thriving writing business until AI came along but now heβs struggling to find work.
Please repost this far and wide in the hope that he can find some writing work.
