Documentaries and Interview Information
- Out of Place (2017) by Vice: Five trans men and women shared stories of battling depression, staring down hate, and coming to terms with their identities—a process culminating in a fight for gender equality.
Joanne Leung, one of Haitu’s organizers, will share her experiences, raising awareness of the lives and struggles of Asian trans individuals. We will also hold a moment of silence for transgender people who have passed away, and share local transgender-related medical and legal resources.
At 7 p.m. on November 21, Haitu will host a Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) event at 268 Keefer St in Vancouver’s Chinatown. Haitu will screen documentaries about Asian trans people.

11月21号晚上七点，温哥华海兔跨性别小组将在温哥华唐人街 268 Keefer St 举办跨性别追悼日（TDOR）的活动。海兔将播放有关亚洲跨性别者的纪录片，海兔组织者之一Joanne Leung会分享她的经历，带大家了解亚洲跨性别者的生存境况，为逝去的跨性别者默哀，并分享本地跨性别相关的医疗和法律资源。

The theme of Haitu Vancouver’s February meetup will be “trans intimacy.” Whether you want to share intimacy experiences, exploring different topics like sexuality, reproduction, and platonic love etc., or simply meet and connect with each other, you are welcomed here!
Do trans people of different sexualities approach intimacy differently? And most importantly – how do we deal with all these obstacles on the arduous journey of love and intimacy?
Navigating romance, love, and intimacy is daunting as is. There seems to be more challenges for trans people. How we trans people face these challenges? Are there differences between trans and cis people in terms of feeling and expressing love and (a)sexuality?
浪漫、爱与亲密关系时常令人生畏，跨性别者似乎需要面临更多挑战。我们跨性别者该如何应对这些挑战呢？跨性别者感受和表达爱与（无）性的方式与顺性别者有无不同？不同性取向的跨性别者的亲密关系又有何异同？——我们该如何面对爱的征途上无处不在的艰难险阻？
