Happy "we really enjoyed your story, but..." Monday to me ๐
2026 books I've enjoyed! Loved @aknighton.bsky.social's Luna Novella! Starts with a great hook and amazing worldbuilding, and grows into a story both dark and poignant - still thinking about it! ๐ฑ๐ค @lunapress.bsky.social
Managed to get a copy from the publisher of the academic textbook my story The Loneliness of Water is in, pretty cool to see how it'll be read and engaged with by students!! Also, love "the gloaming" highlighted as new vocab ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟโจ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ
Ah thank you Daniel โจ๏ธ
Big stretch

I've been told my stories go across both, usually my SF in the more accessible/transparent, then I have gone more lyrical with folklore and horror...I'm not sure I consciously thought about it at the time, though!
Made the crochet mushies a junimo pal...does this begin a Stardew series ๐๐

Alas I live in a city flat, but one day I will have a cottage with a wee farm in the woods with bees and hens and goats...oh wait that's stardew ๐ ๐โโ๏ธ
We love supporting local writers and we're so excited to be championing a feminist horror fairy tale by Borders author Amy Jane Stewart.
Enter the dark woods and discover Hex House... Free event, Tuesday 28th April at The Station House, Stow. Booking essential - see our website for details.
Spent a couple hours today watching beekeeping videos for about three paragraphs in my folk horror WIP, but now I want to take up beekeeping so...

Yes I'm working through it! Have mild ambitions for the 10k in May but we shall see...๐
Regretting my life choices to take up running in the rainiest Edinburgh months...but Week 3 is complete ๐ช
Also, imma be that person and ask if you've listened to A Million Points of Light and can rate and review it, I will love you forever, from afar, not creepily.
Please, my internet blessings upon you etc

Happy three rejections Thursday to me ๐
Nice wee In This City, Where it Rains review: "...It's a horror show over there. If I had to do a comparison, I'd say that Lyndsey Croal's novella felt a bit like Crimson Peak meets Silent Hill." If those are your jam, check it out! ๐ โจ talesofthegrotesqueanddungeonesque.blogspot.com/2026/03/tota...
I can make one for you!! ๐
