New users will start with better default settings!
Our crash resistant Hybrid MP4 video container (Hybrid MOV on macOS) is now the default recording format.
We also decided it's probably safe to bump up the default streaming bitrate to 6000 after being set to 2500 since 2015.
NVIDIA Broadcast integration in OBS has received several updates! RTX Background Removal now has support for chair detection and removal, a new Voice Activity Detection option was added for audio devices, and several optimizations have been made.
As part of these updates to crash handling, we've removed the ability to disable the clean shutdown check.
This has already provided us a LOT of information about crashes we weren't aware of before and situations where it was showing up incorrectly that we will be fixing.
Our crash handler has been reworked on Windows and macOS, including an addition to the startup prompt to upload crash logs to us after a crash so we can fix them!
We can only fix crashes we know about, so we hope this makes it easier for people to send them to us!
Our work on the long requested Plugin Manager is finally underway! The initial version included in 32.0 lets you enable and disable plugins in OBS Studio without having to dig into your filesystem.

This release comes with our initial version of the Plugin Manager! We've also made additions and optimizations to NVIDIA RTX filters, and added hybrid MOV support.

OBS Studio 31.1.0 Beta is now available
A LOT of hard work has been happening behind the scenes to clean up code the past year so we've removed the Exit button to encourage testing.

OBS Studio 30.2.3 is available
