Perhaps something along the lines of OpenCollective, but since I'm not that involved with OSS stuff (yet, I hope) I may have some blindspots.

The donation graph and the single transactions

Graph with weights:
- NicolΓ³ -> 50% self, 25% patak, 25% Daniel
- Patak -> ...

Transactions:
Anonymous -> NicolΓ³ $100
...automatic transactions
VoidZero -> patak $2000
NicolΓ³ withdraw $50

With the added benefit of public data.
Worried about money laundry? Here you have all the "transactions".

This could also offer tax incentives to big corps to donate to the community.

What about building something similar on atproto?

A single entity, like a non profit, could handle all the payments (keeping individual payment informations private) and the funds could circulate between maintainers.

Stripe and others offers discounted fees for non profit.

Noobie question, does github take a cut to process the payments?
If yes at which stage?

If I were to design the system, the gh's cut should be taken only when you take money out from it, as long as the funds circulate internally no fee should be paid

I've purchased the Doppler license recently, I feel the same about streaming my own music

Perhaps I should try to vibe something in the days off and see if something interesting takes shape

ssh is an obscure but widely-deployed command. It stands for Secure Snake Home and was made in the 90s to securely play snake online

I made a massively multiplayer backend for it with support for thousands of concurrent snake players

ssh snakes.run to join!

Since macOS 26 (have since regretted updating) I've disabled automatic updates.

My Mac likes to duplicate the root volume and drives.
I mean, double the OS double the productivity.. right?

One downside that I can think of is that people's blogs with the comment section may not want this, but this opens the possibility to have a "comment section" for non technical people.

Social RSS reader, thoughts?

You have your normal feed, but for each item people can leave comments, start threads, like stuff and maybe even rate it, a bit like Popfeed.
You can then see the feeds of other people.

Because the ones who specify the rules rarely experiences their implementation

I wonder if legislators ever had to run business, the amount of stupid bureaucracy is baffling

As other as said, it's a trade off, you get browser patched for free, smaller bundles and better performance, but each platform has it's quirks

AFAIK web render on Linux may give you a lot of headaches with Tauri for example

Jokes aside, now I would really like that public transport stuff was OSS, I would have used the train travel time to improve the booking UX

I'm a genius

Turin has 2 big main stations, I live close station A.
Yesterday night while booking a train to Milan, I saw one departure at 9:10 and another one at 9:20, arriving at the same time.

JACKPOT, more sleep!

This morning I went to station A at 9:15, the train departed from station B πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
