If the universe has no morality, then ‘pity’ and ‘love’ are just illusions. Christianity explains them better: they reflect a moral Lawgiver whose image we bear.

Genesis says God created a good world and humans later brought sin through disobedience (Genesis 3), not that God created sin. Stars forming and dying simply describe how the physical universe works, not the origin of moral evil or why a rational, law-governed universe exists in the first place.
The puddle analogy fails because life isn’t just adapting to the universe—the universe itself requires extremely precise conditions (laws, constants, chemistry) for life to exist at all. The argument is about the fine-tuning of the hole, not the puddle.
The universe requires a cause because it began to exist. God, by definition, is the uncaused eternal cause—He didn’t begin, so He doesn’t need a cause. The atheist view still has to explain how space, time, matter, and laws of nature came from nothing.
If I believe in God and life after death and you do not, and if there is no God, we both lose when we die. However, if there is a God, you still lose.
— Blaise Pascal
If a wicked man seems to have peace at death, it is not from the knowledge of his happiness, but from the ignorance of his danger.
— Thomas Watson
Nothing makes a deathbed so uneasy and hard as a life spent in the service of sin and lust; nothing makes a deathbed so soft and sweet as a life spent in the service of God and Christ. — Matthew Mead
Fit or not fit--we must all die, and we know not how soon. As death leaves us, the judgment must find us. - William Tiptaft
Every man must do two things alone; he must do his own believing and his own dying. -- Martin Luther
Take care of your life and the Lord will take care of your death. - George Whitefield
The future is promised to no one.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life;
but the wrath of God abideth on him.
- John 3:36 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Romans 6:23 KJV
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
- Mark 8:36 KJV
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: - Hebrews 9:27 KJV
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
- James 4:14 KJV
