This felt especially true when I watched 28 Days Later, which I think influenced a ton of stuff to its own detriment and now feels kind of stale
I like the messiness. The way it leans into how artificial digital films can look and largely jettisons plot makes it feel like the only thing taking zombie movie tropes and trying something at least a little more wild/non-traditional
