Couldn’t stop fiddling. Using “Make Markdown from Rich Text” followed by “Make Rich Text from Markdown” generates different HTML that is better in some ways (a legible font size) but worse in others (random empty <table>s in the markup???).
Of course posting that didn’t get it out of my system, I had to do it. Whipped up a decent solution using Shortcuts, using “Get file of type” to convert the note content to HTML. It doesn’t look great, but it’s functional.
I want to create a custom browser home page using Apple Notes. I‘d use the Notes app as an editor to prepare a page of links; a new browser tab would display the note contents like a normal web page.

Until a few years ago Target had an upper Manhattan store attached to a huge parking garage, designed as a destination for outer borough shoppers. They closed it citing “shoplifting”, then opened a store on 125th in the middle of Harlem. Then they proudly shut down their DEI programs.
This is obviously ridiculous but I do actually think it’s worth thinking about the point of internal immigration enforcement: if a person is here without legal status but their presence is so unobtrusive that it doesn’t catch the attention of any sort of law enforcement, who actually cares?
