I generally assume that political parties know what their constituencies think better than the rest of us do: they spend so much money on polling and focus groups.
But I would be *amazed* if they understood how viscerally they are loathed by young progressives for pushing trans people under a bus.
After Zazz & Zavok showed up in Sonic Dash / Sonic Team Racing I was very much "ughhh why are they still trying to push these guys as a permanent addition to Sonic canon", but that IDW arc made me completely okay with them sticking around & it felt natural for a couple of them to be in CrossWorlds.
Can definitely be done, if you aren't aware already they showed up again as villians for a story arc in the IDW comics, and despite a row of predictable issues where the heroes all split off to fight them one by one issue by issue like macguffins, I remember it being genuinely enjoyable.

I draw her human form often but for this the cat form felt more apropro.

Comic from my weekly series, Chamomile. Detailed Description Follows: Chamomile and Layla have left the vets and are stood outside in the street again. Layla says "If you're all good, I better get back to the shop." Chamomile says "Sure! I'll walk as far as the park with you then split off for home." They begin walking together, Chamomile holding the dog lead. She says "Thanks again for coming Layla. And for cheering me up. And very for that 79 quid. I really-" Chamomile is cut off by the puppy who was bitten whining for attention from below. Chamomile squats down in front of it, saying "Whining!? The vet said you weren't even hurt! What is it?" The puppy then leaps up into a cuddle on her shoulder again, in the same manner that Chamomile carried it to the vet earlier. Chamomile has a look of cheerful surprise as she says "Ah! ...Well, okay!" Chamomile and Layla continue walking down the street, one puppy over Chamomile's shoulder and the other still walking by lead in front of them. Layla says "Say, all that talk about blood back there though... I never saw any." Chamomile says "I figured most people don't really want to see a cute puppy with blood all over it. I did my best to keep it concealed." Layla says "Wow, and while wearing a white top and all. Not a stain to be seen." Chamomile emphasises "Yes! Thank you! Impressive, right?" End of comic. Extra notes follow: The nature of the dog's injury was only alluded to through character dialogue in previous scenes, with no blood visually depicted.
