Rose City Comic Con is a GO! #RCCC
The first Rose City Comic Con was my first time tabling at a con. Thinking that I won't be able to do it anymore absolutely breaks my heart.
Thanks Evan, and happy release day! You're a fav of mine, and your scripts are a joy to draw. I'm looking forward to folks seeing the next one!

I take no personal responsibility for any alleged discussions regarding hot muck-monsters.
Thanks so much Ethan! Lately I've been using this gouache set I found a while back. It's flat and fits well in my travel stuff. Great color range, so the only other thing I need to bring is a good brush and some pens :)
It's a booth nearby that's easy to spot from a distance. The reference sounded a lot better in my head a few minutes ago.
ECCC Day 2! I've still got a commission slot or two to fill, so come visit if you're in the greater Butts on Things area.

@jeffparker.bsky.social : "Hey, you maybe wanna do Silent Knight 2 this year?"
Me: "Oh wow! Yes, but I've never really done a superher--"
Jeff: "Etrigan's in it."
Me: "I'll get my things."
(panel from issue 3, colors by Marcelo Maiolo. Issue 4 is out today with 30% more Etrigan)

Beautiful work! It never occurred to me to try that coated oil paper for acrylics, but now I need to try it.

"Ease up on the gas, Lactaid Pill, many more runs before refuel."
Check out the talented members of my studio, Helioscope! Last I heard, @helioscopepdx.bsky.social is the largest comic book studio in North America? You've probably read a comic or seen an illustration by at least one of us at some point, online or off.
His cat can confirm. "50k? That's less than a year of my Stelara shots."
I can't stop looking at these, absolutely stunning!
I'm gonna be at Gallery Erato in Seattle tomorrow! I'll be selling paintings, some drawings, prints, and general cheer.
Just kidding! The cheer is free, but if you're in the area come by between 3pm & 7pm for your cheer and greetings! And art. Don't forget the art!

Talent by itself is worth little. Talent is just a compulsion to do a thing, and so a person gets a temporary leg up on the other kids. Without targeting that talent to develop better skills and actively seeking critique, it can be like replaying a fun tutorial endlessly with no first quest.
Some of the development sketches for the Silent Knight's armor, zombie rune, etc., many from before @jeffparker.bsky.social rightly pointed out that wearable helmet would read more clearly :P (Batman/Santa: Silent Knight Returns issue 2 is out today!)
