The truth is simple: having a gun in the home greatly increases the risk of suicide, deadly domestic violence, and accidental shootings involving children or other household members.

We’ve learned an important lesson from tobacco policy: clear, graphic warnings save lives.

That’s why I introduced legislation with Assemblymember @keithpowersnyc.bsky.social to require graphic warning images in gun stores across New York State illustrating the lethal risks of guns in the home.

Guns in the home are far more likely to injure or kill someone in the home than to be used in self-defense and consumers should know that.
