I didn’t care for his Henry V anyways, so why would I care what he thinks about ballet and opera? I don’t!

Like any gay man in my early 40’s I decided to read Andrew Robert’s Napoleon- a life, because of course.

I’m so sad I didn’t get to see the production in DC, N.RO would have had me wailing.

I listen to books and podcasts on my morning dog walks, and I’m grateful I was home when I got to act 6 of the Inheritance because I UGLY cried my fucking eyes out.

I am somewhere deep in act 2 of the Inheritance and I love gay people.

Give me an ONeil, a Williams, maybe even a Miller, but let’s leave the abstract boys out, they require a strong direction and not a glorified art director.

I also absolutely do not understand the appeal of Albee, At least Virginia Wolfe is funny, a delicate balance is… boring and abstract, barely a step above Pinter.

So I don’t have 6+ hours to spare, especially on a weekend, and I really wanted to see The Inheritance, so I am listening to the audible recording, and it is a lot like experiencing a show from backstage, except I’m not exhausted from load in, and it’s actually good, a refreshing experience.

Like every artistic director in the American theater, Donald Trump has decided his performing arts organization needs a new building.

Bach has been saying for YEARS that he won’t let us use TikTok in our house, not on our WiFi, and not to download it onto any device. It’s full of nasty little things that datamine, and isn’t worth the trouble.

And I responded, that you can only do your job as best you can and can’t control the quality of the show itself, the beauty is that a bad show will end, and the tragedy is a good show does too. You might have a better time running a bad show than a good show.

We’re doing a world premiere, and it’s been a… rough process, we had our first run through on invited dress and the stage crew apprentice turns to us and asked “what if the show doesn’t get any better?”

Bach and I went on our first date to “The Real Thing” at the Guthrie, which of course is a hilariously horrible first date play, but it made it all the better no matter how awkward the subject matter

I only ever watched one of the movie versions, and aside from Tilda Swinton, I wasn’t super fond of the adaptations. I have hope for the Greta Gerwig adaptation though!

I finished the Magician’s Nephew and have moved on to LWW- which I got from a scholastic book fair in elementary school, my parents were always supportive of reading and basically we had an unlimited book, comic book and magazine slush fund.

I decided to download the Chronicles of Narnia audiobook- I’ve read the Lion, the witch and the Wardrobe & the Last Battle, but none of the other books, I’m quite enjoying Magician’s Nephew so far!

Every year the senior class at Le Sueur high school would climb the scaffolding on the jolly green giant facing the large hill on highway 169 and put a giant green penis onto the giant. Always a pleasure to see.
