Republicans assuming an ideological realignment had occurred was another major mistake. They didn't fully understand *how* they won in 2024 and are now looking at a 2010-level rout -- but with nothing to show for it.

These were clearly *swing voters*. I'd sounded alarm bells about polls showing Biden with eroding support among key demos (due to inflation primarily). I was repeatedly told that a Dem POTUS candidate would apparently *alway* enjoy Obama-levels among Black and Latino voters. That was a mistake.
Jonathan Greenblatt has turned the ADL into a farce which protects and amplifies the very people espousing horrific bigotry and nativist fascist ideology that it was founded to combat.
I was once a proud member and advocate of their mission, but I have sadly long since stopped taking it seriously.
That they havenβt done away with Greenblatt tells me everything I need to know about the ADL.
Honestly, Jon Ronson kind of called Greenblatt out in his book twenty years ago for having questionable motives, and wielding anti-semitism like a cudgel, and it kind of went unnoticed until recently.
I'm sure if lots of people were asked, "Who was Jeffrey Epstein?", the results would be something like:
-A pedophile sex trafficker = 75%
-Never heard of him = 20%
-A billionaire = 4%
-A Jew = <1%
All that diplomatic capacity the Trump regime denigrated, degraded, and dismantled wouldβve been awfully useful when launching a war involving a dozen countries and impacting the global economy, argues @profsaunders.bsky.social.
Tell Marie Kondo this sparked joy

Thatβs really something, the ADL simultaneously defending this war on Iran and the worldβs most notorious pedophile sex trafficker, and all this after a coalition of convenience with literal American Nazis.
Theyβll do or say anything for Israel, at the expense of all Americans, Jew or Gentile.
Sorry, I misremembered the quote, it was "the Henry Ford of our time." He was pretty quickly forced to walk it back, unsurprisingly, but it certainly damaged him in my eyes.
if this makes you ask yourself who at the ADL has flown on the Epstein plane, that is also antisemitic.
so don't do it
Carlson being βrightβ about a disastrous war will set him up well among MAGA faithful who feel betrayed. Sadly, heβll also win over some of the far left with his position on Israel
He will endorse Carlson once he clinches the GOP nomination in 2028
Oh, great this means Tucker Carlson is the next president
How the heck is it antisemitic? Itβs about reminding people that the war is taking focus away from the Epstein files. Holy moly.
As a Jew: Co-signing this idea.
ADL has long since jumped the shark.
"Complaining about the President's ties to a pedo because said pedo happened to be Jewish IS ANTISEMITISM, OMG" is batshit moon-logic worthy of the Republicans themselves.

Wait? Henry Ford?
I stopped taking them seriously right around the time Jonathan Greenblatt referred to Elon Musk as "a modern-day Henry Ford" in a complimentary sense.

Maybe it's time to officially stop taking the ADL seriously.
Trump's got about 39% support right now. How is that possible?
two things:
1. fascism has a constituency
2. partisanship is powerful
I talk about both at some length here. www.everythingishorrible.net/p/why-isnt-t...
Incredible how they insist, collectively and individually, that "Look, I'm voting No on everything until something vaguely like sanity returns to the White House" would not be a defensible position right now - politically, morally, whatever.
Chris Murphy: "I Just came from a two hour, closed door classified briefing on the war. It just confirmed to me it's totally incoherent. We are not gonna be able to achieve any of our stated objectives ... this is a disaster of epic proportions, a 10 day debacle"
I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.
Is the premise of this story that the mayor should make lighthearted video content about an ongoing criminal investigation www.nytimes.com/2026/03/09/n...
A cabinet with one or two catastrophic picks like Noem, Hegseth, RFK, or Bondi would be among the worst in American history. All of them at the same time? Unlike anything we've ever seen.

Home care is notoriously underpaid, at least in part because of Medicaid rates. It's actually a huge problem given how much need there is www.commonwealthfund.org/publications...
Not incidentally, this admin is targeting the field for defending with accusations of fraud that include suggestions that they pay providers *too much* and that we simply shouldn't be paying for these services at all homehealthcarenews.com/2026/03/medi...
New in PN: The worst cabinet in history
"Even having one or two cabinet members as disastrous as Noem, Hegseth, Kennedy, or Bondi would be a stain on any administration; putting them all in one govt has created a kind of Bizarro World 1927 Yankees, an all-star team of incompetence and malevolence."
