It'll be sore for sure, but I don't think it's much worse than a root canal? They dig around in the meat either way and it sucks :'D but you'll feel a hell of a lot better after you heal up, so try to focus on that!
I've had three root canals and my dad had a couple bone graft dental implants. He said they were about on par; aka they numb you up so much you don't feel the pain during the process, but healing hurts (cause it's technically a surgery so yeah)
