I make things because I genuinely love the act of creation. I'm not trying to impress people with the coolest prompt I can come up with.
AI just does not feel fun because, to me, it doesn't feel like I'm actually creating anything.
I love that I'm still able to have a lot of fun doing what I do.
Being an Artist in the CG world is definitely a blessing. Even when things are convoluted with all the AI nonsense, making things as a human always feels rad.

You hold a weapon far more enduring than violence. This is not the time for silence. It is not the time for neutrality. Neutrality is complicity. Art is never neutral; it either upholds the regime or shatters it.

🧵 (2-2) Most clients don’t really know what they want until you show them something better. They just need to feel like they're part of the journey, not held hostage by it.
As long as you can sell it, don't be afraid to step out of line when you know a finer path is clearly visible to you.

That’s why I started writing again.
I'm trying to be open and honest, with sometimes brutal reflections on what it means to be a creative in a world that monetizes imagination and discards the beauty behind it.
We’re not burnt out because we’re weak; we’re burnt out because our work is our purpose. Not just a 9-5, get your hours and benefits, then go home.
It never ends for us.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about how isolating it is to be a creative right now.
Everything’s fast, shallow, and sometimes meaningless. The stuff that takes the most from you often gets the least in return.
I made this YEARS ago but I still love it.
It took me awhile to figure out how to make the "Interstellar" esq' Black Hole in Cinema 4D but it actually turned out to be pretty simple.
I was lucky enough to present this method for Maxon at NAB in LA. it was such a dope trip!

We don’t need to suffer in silence to be great, we just need more community. (Or at least I do 😅)

It’s easy to feel like you’re doing it alone. Like everyone else is thriving while you’re burning out quietly behind the scenes.

To pay attention is an act of generosity now. A rare one.
🧵(3-5) So we’re bankrupt. Not just in terms of how much attention we get, but in how much we have to give. Everything’s spread thin and diluted.
🧵(2-5) Everyone is fighting to hold and monetize it. It’s how we measure relevance, where we assign value and who we assign it to; it's ultimately how we decide what matters.
We’ve become so inundated with content that we’ve stopped truly seeing anything.
🧵(1-5) Attention is our new currency and we are already bankrupt.
In today’s world, attention is the most sought after commodity.
