Test run, keep in mind, the body is only held on by gravity and there's practically no weight

Makes a terrible racket, but I think that's in character

Finally got Sparky the steeplecab mounted on a proper 8-wheel chassis, with the help of some Meccano and a very thin sheet of cardstock

Need to make it more rigid and add a massive weight box to the middle, but, it works without making the loco excessively big!

I also love the way it shakes and wobbles, which feels about right based on seeing Mckinney Avenue's "Rosie" bounce around downtown Fort Worth a few years ago (They did a great restoration job and their track is pretty good - Just the nature of the beast!)

A quick and dirty video of the Red Devil coming out to play. This model is from the 1950s and runs just like the real car - fast, while making an electric motor racket

A closer look at the streetcar line (Car itself is unfinished, needs some paint on the roof) including glimpses at the car barn, where a Birney safety car and the C&LE Red Devil wait for their chance to run on the loop

Reminded me, I found this kitbashed "R3" motor online and it brings me much joy

Was tempted to paint it in New Haven colors or an earlier NYC scheme, but, whoever made this did such a nice job, I'd hate to mess it up

Thanks! I animated the front truck first, then copied it onto another layer with the timing adjusted, and it followed the track pretty well!

I kept this one fairly limited in terms of individual drawings because I might have other, more complex trolley characters going around the loop later

Oh, I have some sound recordings in my catalog that'll be suitably flange-squeal-ey, ehehe!

And ye, I was thinking of doing another pass, at least two more in-between frames of the car body's swing during the latter part (also to even out the perspective shift) - Goal is to minimize redrawing the car body, and with those two extra drawings, that brings it to 7, not too bad!

Would anyone like to have a character cameo in this shot as an extra? Ideally, there'd be a few passengers waiting at the station, as well as car traffic passing on the roads in the background

No guarantees, but I am open to suggestion!

He's just such a fun "extra" that I have unofficially made him Shelby's motorman, since he kind of summarizes the vibe of your typical interurban dude, whose stability and intentions are hard to determine

Worth pointing out, Shelby was at one time equipped with a "People catcher"
