The International Conference at Howard, May 21 -23, in celebration of his legacy offers a powerful space to reflect on and engage with his profound contributions to African thought, global scholarship, and higher education.
His interdisciplinary work—spanning economic history, diaspora studies, human rights, literary criticism, and beyond—has shaped generations of scholars and advanced vital conversations across the globe.
Finance majors Jordan Atkins, Aaron Harrison, and Jada Rabun, computer information systems major Keyla Arrechea, and computer engineering major Kadijah Mansaray were asked to propose and defend a business solution to grow revenue for a major global company.
What makes our Alternative Spring Break so unique and brilliant is the real-world experiences that shape our student’s understanding of civic responsibility.
Their efforts spanned 22 cities, where they worked hand-in-hand with local schools, churches, community organizations, after-school programs, food banks, and advocacy groups.
The theme for this year’s HUASB, "Nurturing Our Community: Planting Seeds of Hope for the Future," speaks to the profound work of our students in fostering meaningful change.
This year was no exception. Our students exemplified the essence of our mission—Truth and Service—by dedicating over 150,000 hours to impactful community engagement during their spring break a short few weeks ago.
