Buddy this manga came out in 97 which is nearly 30 years ago. I’m sure the reason why these manga have some One Piece influence is because these guys grew up with it.

the thing is EC is a reskin of Nier Reincarnation which was one of the worst gachas I'd ever played, and EC is genuinely just worse
yeah it's actually fucked up, because the game gives you the ability to spend bonus EXP at camp sites to level up, which will lead to you being above the story level cap, which means your class acquisition completely stalls out
like, Opera Omnia had all kinds of dark horse strategies for beating high difficulty content without the banner character being advertised
but that's because all the characters in OO had really distinct abilities, while Ever Crisis just has DPS tank support and healer
something about Ever Crisis is that it's actually probably one of the worst gachas I've seen in terms of the capability to offer hard content, because 2.5 years in the meta is literally just like 8 different elemental damage modifiers
honestly some gacha games have really intricate balance that could totally lead to something that could be fun to normal players, but Ever Crisis is pretty much entirely focused around damage multipliers so there's nothing really fun or interesting to its difficulty
bet there are also people who quit because they expect to be able to spend money to bypass the game and just become the best
this also seems to be a really common thing with roblox
