Rainy day hike through Ricketts Glen is perfect for waterfall photography.
Another day, another waterfall! All this rain we've had around these parts was so needed. Bye bye pollen! It makes for great waterfalls too!

Awesome! I'm very close to booking a photo trip to Olympic national Park for later this year. The rainforests are my top priority. Nice shot!

Water rushed down the moss covered wall along the hiking path at Ricketts Glen State Park in Pennsylvania.
This is a photo I've wanted to capture for years. Every once and a while I would see a small stream of water flowing on the side of a moss-covered wall. It was only during this rainy hike where I was able to finally get this.

Ricketts Glen State Park in Pennsylvania has over 20 waterfalls. I was even able to capture a few waterfalls that only show up during heavy rain. It was raining the entire time here, and there was no chance I was able to keep everything dry. PRO TIP!!! But a bag of cheap shower caps and keep them in your bag. They are an easy way to cover your camera in between shooting.
This was one of my favorite trips to this park. It didn't matter that the constant rain was a challenge. The water flow meant that there was so much of it that it forced me to take photos from angles I've never shot at.

Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center in Philadelphia at sunset.
Designed by architect Junzo Yoshimura, Shofuso was built in Japan in 1953 using traditional techniques and materials. It was shipped to New York and exhibited in the courtyard of the Museum of Modern Art in New York before moving to West Fairmount Park in 1958. In 2007, international artist Hiroshi Senju, inspired by the gardenβs waterfall, donated 20 contemporary murals to Shofuso, which are permanently displayed inside the house. This historic site and museum includes a hill and pond garden with a tiered waterfall, island, and koi fish, a tea garden featuring a traditional tea house, and a courtyard garden leading to a bathhouse.
Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center in Philadelphia
If I was dropped off in Japan with a camera, I would spend the remainder of my life exploring the culture and landscape.

It's not spring until you hear the 'Peeper' frogs. With a backup of carpenter frogs too.

Finally out in the open. Plenty of birds and frogs around. I was shocked at how low many of the old cranberry bogs were though.

Still near the road, hardly any wildlife can be heard. Not for long though!

Went for a 5 mile hike into the pine lands yesterday afternoon. I've been to this park so many times but never took the red trail. Not photogenic at all but a nice quiet walk to my regular spot. Check the comments for more!

An older gentleman walks in a hurry down the sidewalk.
A blind man is escorted down the road by an officer.

The Milky Way rises over an abandoned beach house.
Capturing the Milky Way rising over an abandoned beach house was one of my favorite night adventures. You need to drive over 10 miles on a beach just to get there.

A small creek off of the side of a road. Flowing water bounces between river rocks, carving a path between the moss covered banks lined with wet trees and bushes.
Rainy day adventures. This is just a small creek off to the side of a road. It wasn't a destination, but an area of curiosity on the way to one. It was a fun walk looking around an area that no one really bothers to look at.

I also noticed in comparison to IG, the activity per post here ranges from very active to a little. That tells me there isn't some stupid algorithm deciding to keep the visibility within whatever predetermined number that was set. It's better for now!

It's still decent if I actively look for groups or hunt down individuals. But why does it insist on showing me posts from weeks ago, when it hasn't even shown the current post? It's become nothing more than digital noise, and I want LESS of that.

I used to post my photography on Facebook, both on my personal/business page. I've just about stopped completely. I feel like I have digital alzheimer's when I scroll now. It seems somewhat familiar, but I don't see my friends or accounts I follow. It's a strange feed that makes me uncomfortable.
