Dad of 3. 🚲 Cargo Biker. πŸ’» Tech/Data nerd. ⚾️ #Mets fan. Appreciate craft beer, whiskey, fire pits, and good books. I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me.

It’s my primary mode of transportation. This is a Specialized Globe Haul LT, with the cargo rails and running boards added. I’ve put about 2,500 miles on it and love it.

it's deeply embarrassing that team usa is treating the wbc like a military operation while every other team is just having a lot of fun

BuzzFeed Nearing Bankruptcy After Disastrous Turn Toward AI Three years after its pivot to AI, the writing is on the wall for BuzzFeed. The company said there's "substantial doubt" it can keep going.

BuzzFeed dying after chasing profits into a sinkhole vs. Gawker getting killed for challenging entrenched power is the perfect conclusion to the 2010s content philosophy wars.

I just keep coming back around to, "there is a reason that no previous president did this foolish thing and it was not because they were weak, woke cowards, but because they could read a cost-benefit analysis."

I am close to what I think is a good flier design. I’d love feedback but don’t want to post it publicly so if you’re interested DM me your email and I’ll send it around tomorrow.

I’ve been keeping all my notes, research, news clippings, etc for this project in NotebookLM, so Gemini is helping with the visual. Even then this is eating up my entire night.

In the 20 minutes since I sat down to try this:
- Child 1 came down terrified that he’s going to jail for accidentally bringing his classmate’s backpack home today.
- Child 2 came downstairs to tell me that Child 1 is annoying.
- I’ve received 8 Slack messages.

Maybe I should own a restaurant.

Thank you for this! So by installing a battery system without solar I’m essentially capturing the arbitrage between peak and off-peak prices, while also blackout-proofing?

I’d love to hear more as well. I tried desperately to go solar last year, but couldn’t even get someone to come out and do an estimate due to tree cover.

A wider shot of a melting snow pile on the side of a paved road. The surrounding landscape looks dry and spring-like, emphasizing how unnatural this dense chunk of January ice looks in the current climate.

A photograph showing a larger, retreating mound of soot-covered snow beside an asphalt road. Long, dramatic tree shadows stretch across the pavement, creeping toward the stubborn snowcrete as it slowly succumbs to the warmth.

The snowcrete glaciers of Alexandria. Once ubiquitous but now rapidly receding, these remnants of an ancient ice age have no place in our warming world.

A snowy night on a wooden deck. Two mushroom-shaped cordless table lamps β€” one burgundy, one dark gray β€” stand on a snow-covered table, each with a dome of fresh snow on top. A small glass candle lantern sits between them. Snow-dusted trees and a wooden railing are visible in the background, lit by warm ambient light.

Each day shows high and low temperatures as colored gradient bars from green (cool) to orange/red (warm).

#PPOD: Korea’s Kompsat-2 satellite captured this image over the sand seas of the Namib Desert on 7 January 2012. The blue-and-white area is the dry riverbed of the Tsauchab. Black dots of vegetation are concentrated close to the river’s main route, while salt deposits appear bright white. πŸ§ͺ
