Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.
Thanks for confirming π
Splendid walk at RSPB Old Hall Marshes earlier today; fantastic Spoonbill flypast and either a Hobby or Peregrine...can someone please confirm. The ring may help perhaps?
A quick walk around EWT Fingringhoe Wick earlier this morning....found some distant owls but sadly couldn't see any turtle doves #essexbirding
Lovely to see recently fledged birds finding their way round the garden.
Cuckoo at Fingringhoe Wick this morning. #Essexbirding
I think I remember that bridge....Little Waltham?
We lived very near there during the spring of 2020...lockdown times. Long walks every day during those strange times. Fantastic area for birds.
1 of 2 cuckoos at Heybridge Pits this morning. Noisy reed warbler, greenfinch and lots of chiffchaffs too. #Essexbirding
A walk around sunny Sculthorpe Moor this morning showed much nest building and home seeking in progress! #Norfolkbirding
Spring has sprung at EWT Fingringhoe Wick today!
Visited RSPB Minsmere today then walked up to Dunwich Heath where I saw my first ever Dartford Warbler. Not the greatest pic but am happy anyway....another box ticked π
A sunny morning at RSPB Titchwell this morning. Distant view of a pair of Red Breasted Mergansers and a Curlew washing a worm #norfolkbirding
Who doesn't like to see a Sanderling? On the incoming tide at Bradwell this morning. #essexbirding
Many thanks for the clarification....I'm very happy to be corrected π Every day is still a school day!
A brief visit to Abberton this afternoon produced female Goosander and Greater Scaup (I think), a strange looking gull and a splendid Great Egret flypast. Very happy for someone with better knowledge than me, (a low bar!) to correct my identification. #Essexbirding
Common birds I know but a lovely pair of reed buntings in the welcome sun at Blue House Farm yesterday.
Turnstones on parade at high tide in the Blackwater estuary today...and a few Redshanks to keep them in line....and a Dunlin in command!
A gloomy mid afternoon walk along the sea wall from Goldhanger today. Nothing unusual but pleasing in the challenging conditions. Playing with high ISO settings. Didn't expect the Barn Owl!
....and a few more.
A walk from Maldon to Heybridge and back today showed what a wonderful variety of birds we are so lucky to enjoy.
A remarkable stat: Heidi Alexanderβs appointment as Transport Secretary means the cabinet is now 100% state-educated for the first time in history.
A quick stroll around Tollesbury Wick today. Great White Egrets doing well in Essex. A Marsh Harrier surprises some lapwing. Wigeon in abundance and a flock of linnets in the low sun. #Essexbirding
A very unusually disappointing visit yesterday to EWT Fingringhoe Wick (annoyingly I missed getting a pic of a female Sparrowhawk taking on a Little Egret), so here's a few from the archive to make up for it. #Norfolkbirding #Essexbirding
Feeders cleaned and ready for the cold snap. Don't forget yours.
Just completely deactivated and deleted my X account. Most therapeutic and highly recommended!
Pics taken a couple of weeks ago at the wonderful #RSPBTitchwellMarsh. 1st post on here, like many have migrated across from the Other Place. @rspb.bsky.social.
