βIt's not my duty as Mayor to make sure you have a parking spot. For me it's the same as if you bought a cow, or a refrigerator, and then asked me where you're going to put them.β β Mayor of Pontevedra, Spain (re-elected 6 times)

Most definitely.
Thanks! I had a Rad City 3 that served me well for thousands of miles. Considering the Rad City 5 but open to other brands as well.
I keep looking at everyone's bike around town, squinting to see if they have MY bike. I'm sure it's long gone. :(
Obviously, I'm still bummed out and miss my ride. But now I need a new one. What e-bikes are people riding these days? Has technology improved over the last few years?
I bought my e-bike for $1,600 four years ago. For the cost of $400 per year, I got to commute with it daily and take other smaller errand trips. Honestly, that's a pretty good deal when compared to buying a small car for commuting. It's even a pretty good deal when compared to transit passes.
It was my fault -- I got lazy and parked it outside of my garage with the intention of putting it IN my garage later, and that was all the time the thief needed. To be fair, they did leave me their old bike. At least I have something to ride -- that was kind (I guess). See pic.
My e-bike was stolen today. Boo.
Yay!!
βParking lots donβt employ any people. They simply provide space for cars. We have expensive housing for people and free parking for cars. β¦ Weβre killing our own cities. Itβs a huge bummer.β
RIP Donald Shoup
This method doesn't really work in densities any greater than this because then you get multifamily with parking lots and structures that make it impossible for interns to count without trespassing on private property.
Good thoughts! I'm doing a project in Grover Beach and we've heard resident concerns over parking, and the neighborhoods there are less dense than SLOs! A study like this can help planners bring some reality to the conversation.
I did a little study of residential parking and found that most on-street and off-street spaces are vacant, even in R-2 zones.
New video up on Nebula! I wondered how the best way to punish bad drivers was, and the truth is that the system is kind of broken -- and definitely skewed toward giving drivers the benefit of the doubt.

My kids invited me to join their Animal Crossing island and now we have a community workshop scheduled for later to discuss a new neighborhood district for future islanders. They're each designing maps before reaching consensus. This is the closest I've come to getting them excited about planning.

At least you know itβs not the street pattern holding Fresnoβs transit back.
If you live in a small/midsized city, you can often change the discourse on housing/land use by starting a locally-focused blog on these issues. I've seen it happen. With the death of local media, there's often no one covering e.g. zoning hearings. If that's you, you set the terms of the debate.
My Christmas wish (that will not be granted according to this plan): Electrified extension of Capitol Corridor to San Luis Obispo.
