Talked to ppl behind the tables and it was packed with folks for the full 3 hr event. It felt like the whole damn city came out! There's so clearly an appetite to connect. Our city is primed for an event more geared towards standing up against the evils of the current admin.
I would love to see something like the last reskeet locally! Salem had a kickoff event for our 400+ celebration yesterday and they PACKED the high school with tables for local orgs to get the word out about community support options. I've been here almost 15 yrs and I learned of some new ones!
I will underscore that we could do something like this in every city and town in the country. Note that they make sure to include tabling so organizations can let people know about their work and people can plug into that work.
