I'm kawaiihana or Hana for short. For the past three years I have been battling CLL or better known as chronic leukemia. I had no issues with my job with leaving for treatment or working from home due to this sickness. I had approved government FMLA leave and state disability. This year I unfortunately lost my home during the LA fires along with most of my belongings. I was able to get an insurance claim. I moved into a small place and was fine. I was still able to make money with my job. Fast forward to March. My during my normal check up my Doctor found out my CLL was acting up again and I need to get treatment. I was approved from both the state and government to take medical leave. My job was given all my paper work and it was approved. I still was able to work from home/hospital bed most days. This was fine till June. Out of nowhere my job said they need more proof of my illness and revoked my medical accommodations. After I was given a notice that I was being terminated for running out of

sick days. Since I was in the hospital for treatment I didn't get the notification till the grace period for me to resubmit my paperwork. I was given the horror of losing my job from the hospital. They said that my insurance was no longer available once I'm stable I will be discharged. I was able to reinstated my insurance but at a heavy impact to my savings. I'm in the hospital currently waiting for a surgery. My uterus and ovaries need to be removed due to the cancer spreading. They are infected and will not stop bleeding. Unfortunately before my insurance mishaps I was declined my surgery to remove my tumor riddled uterus. I quote "your claim is declined for it being marked as gender affirmative care. We do not cover those types of body modifications. It goes against government protocols." My doctor is refilling and we are waiting to see if I get this surgery. If I don't I will bleed out and pass. My partner and I already burn through our savings trying to keep my health insurance and find a lawyer for my case. We are in the process of selling our belongings. I hate asking for help but I honestly don't know what to do. I was the main income for

my household. I'm in no position to leave the hospital at the moment. It is hindering me from going to collect unemployment. I so sick and weak I can not stay up for more than a few moments. I have my Ko-fi linked in my bio. I am so ashamed to be begging for help. I just don't know what else to do.

I hate asking, but if you want to support me, I would be forever grateful. I'm battling chronic leukemia and just lost my job. I am seeking legal help since I was wrongfully terminated. I used my savings to keep my treatment going with temporary health insurance given by the hospital.
