Net zero could put Woodside in the red in five years Australia's biggest oil and gas producer has posted record output, but a global supply glut and the energy transition could hinder future profits.

Big polluter Woodside's own modelling shows it could be operating in the red within five years, under a net zero energy transition scenario. This should raise major alarm bells at #HESTA and #AustralianSuper, which have members' retirement savings invested in Woodside.

Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate changeβ€”all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.

Australia’s grid now relies on renewable energy as much as coal. Those who doubted it look foolish Solar met the majority of electricity demand between 9am and 6pm in the past week as much of the country cranked air conditioners

Solar provided 59% of electricity in the Australian national (east coast) grid between 9am and 6pm over the past week. It was 30% of total generation.

Life moves pretty fast etc.
