Not sure if this is sufficiently positive, but in Marianna Mayer's "Baba Yaga and Vasilisa the Brave" Baba Yaga is a force for righetous vengance (still terrifying and given to cruelty). It's also beautifully illustrated by Kinuko Y. Craft.

Any chance there will be a print edition available? Excited to read in all cases :)
