I rarely see ppl go "I'm going to this election rally!" like nothing is getting done jessica if you arent doing something irl one protest and a dream isn't enough we need you at political events, demonstrations, rallies, voting parties, contributing, donating, panel debates, field research SOMETHING

Mutual aid networks, lobbying, delegate selections, congresses..some people don’t even know what the fuck these things are but conservatives do and that’s why they always overtake our government

participating “offline” for local and state government DOES create change which can be done through attending rallies, donating, emailing, calling, volunteering, showing up to demonstrations, picketing, marches, town halls, canvassing this shouldn’t be a sometimes thing and liberals don’t get that

we can’t disrupt a system by just saying “I won’t vote, we’re fucked either way” “I won’t call reps that’s too much work” “it’s bad either way so we might as well do nothing” like??? That doesn’t help anything!

Protesting ROCKS but there is more than just protesting and I think many young liberals refuse incorporating political action within their offline lives. Volunteering, voting local and state government, rallying, donating, calling reps, supporting outside party candidates, offline mobilization

its just such a weird topic because you're fighting your experience of chronic online exposure knowing what the internet can be paired with understanding that normalizing it isn't the right thing either

I think the US laws coming out are attempting to "fix" the safety issues with proving identity thru age verifications, id scanning, etc but I think the internet is just the wild west. If I got them I'd be sad, I understand their sadness if its true!!! but I'm just like "yep twitter would do that"

I think it shouldn't happen and I hate anyone receiving them even people I don't like or think are terrible people but it just fascinates me how ppl who haven't had enough exposure to being on every crevice of the internet don't realize this place is just fucking nasty it sucks but it wont change

That's true, I def think its a complicated situation to be in especially since these accounts are designed to get attention and make threats. It could be my desensitization of how terrible the internet can be but I try really hard to be empathetic despite how it feels diverting a serious convo
