Happy 64th birthday to Darryl Strawberry. There wasnβt a more feared slugger in the 1980s than Strawberry so his signing with the Dodgers ahead of 1991 made one of the biggest splashes in team history. Heβs had some battles over time so hope heβs having a healthy and happy day.
Street Fighter: The Movie (1994). βQuick, change the channel!β
Be sure to visit our table at the sixty-eighth annual Missouri Conference on History, March 11-13, at Old Kinderhook at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Joseph Cotten.
A favorite co-star of Orson Welles and one of my favorite "under the radar" actors.
My art.
One of the best. I had the honor of interviewing him for my new β85 Series book!

The Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers are tipping off now, and as I detail in "Moses and the Doctor," this is the premier rivalry in NBA history, the longest-running and the one that shaped the character of both clubs and their fanbases.
Gonna assume this salon was created by an overrated stylist enlisting a bunch of more talented stylists in order to sleep with another stylistβs wife.
One of the kind of fucked up parts of the ICE occupation here is that a lot of folks want to believe itβs over, and the media seems to tell us itβs over, but folks on the ground are still seeing tons of activity and vulnerable people are still (rightfully) terrified to go outside. We canβt stop yet.
I just realized Iβve had major interactions with 5 of the 1981 Dodgers: Fernando Valenzuela, Rick Monday, Dusty Baker, Joe Beckwith, and Jerry Reuss. Interviewing Beckwith for my β85 book changed my life, and Iβm currently colleagues with Baker. 45 years later, they still have an impact!
New video! Look at this man's glorious poodle hair.

YouTube, man. Here is home video footage of Roberto Clemente just weeks before his death (Nov 22, 1972). He was actually in Nicaragua managing Puerto Rico in the Amateur World Series. The footage was taken by Norbert Jaeger, a member of the German team. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RerR...
Heβs got the βMagicβ era attitude back. We are in good hands.
The Defiant Ones they ain't.

βRenee was not the first person killed, and she was not the last,β Becca Good said. βYou know my wifeβs name and you know Alexβs name, but there are many others in this city being harmed that you donβt know β their families are hurting just like mine, even if they donβt look like mine.β
Tarik Skubal wins his arbitration case and gets paid $32 million this year, proving itβs very difficult to argue βthis back-to-back Cy Young Award winner actually isnβt *that* goodβ
Shirley Povich writing in 1962, with the most immaculate burn conceivable of the Redskins awful, vile owner George Preston Marshall, the last NFL owner to insist on an all white roster: "Jim Brown, born ineligible to play for the Redskins, integrated their end zone three times yesterday." RIP WaPo.
