This reminded me of the Teesside Steelworks near where I once lived and all the things that died with it. They got rid of it with the largest single explosive demolition in British history.

Hypothesis: as funny as this is, he was coached to do precisely this as standard deposition evasiveness. The NYT did a funny series of videos about that sort of thing, the "photocopier" one is particularly fabulous. www.nytimes.com/video/opinio...
Bleakly funny RFK jr biopic really would call for Ray Wise
Whenever this pops up it makes me think of Star Trek casts. "DeForrest Kelley", "Majel Barratt", "Gates McFadden", "Brent Spiner","Nana Visitor", "Colm Meanie"
"GDC selling tickets to Yerba Buena Gardens" is straight-up the funniest possible endgame to whatever shit we started 20 ish years ago
"Winston was good at this kind of thing. On occasion he had even been entrusted with the rectification of 'The Times' leading articles, which were written entirely in Newspeak."
"The shrdlu abides" nearly works
Browser tabs are like outboard memory. When I'm suddently wondering "why am I reading a paper about drag coefficients?" and closing the tabs eventually gets me back to "There is an engineless 1989 vauxhall calibra for sale in Chelmsford"

"So it turns out that a compound called Isoamyl Acetate is the most powerful cognitoprotectant we have. But it's also a single colonial organism and wait until you hear what we've been doing to it for the last century"

Casting Jay Baruchel as Mike Lazaridis is like casting David Bowie as Ted Kennedy
I watched one single short of the Blackberry movie and now Sexy Mike Lazaridis is pursuing me around YouTube.
How can this be real. It's just impossible he used "Money for Nothing." The only scenario where this makes sense is his own social media people hate him and are intentionally undermining him.

Both of them are bad and inaccurate, all downstream of Isaacson's roman Γ cadavre, but Kutcher portrayed jobs well. Tom Cruise was the right actor for an older Jobs and still is.
In retrospect it's funny that the critically-reviled Anton Kutcher indie Jobs biopic did better than the high-budget critical darking Sorkin/Fassbender one. No-one actually cares about dialogue chess or daddy pathos, they want to watch the asshole assholing.
The advertisements and reviews never show the back of the Kohler Jaro Intelligent Toilet
About once every three years I find myself in a seemingly nondescript hair salon marveling at the existence of sprawling, cosy, bustling third places with coffee bars, art and creches and will inevitably make eye contact with the one other husband present and in our glance is all that we have lost
The Borribles Get a Computer
This used to be his website and still a good reminder of how these lucky rich posers see themselves
I was messing around with an experimental email layout and I decided to turn it into a @tedium.co issue about Substack. I put a web version here:

New plan: fish silver carp from faux-Venetian canals beneath looming walls of barely-inhabited skyscrapers in a fog-shrouded Chinese ghost city
My neighbour told me Kuwaiti air defence keeps eating his F-15s so I asked how many F-15s he had and he told me he just goes and gets another F-15 so I said it sounds like he's just feeding F-15s to Kuwaiti air defence and then his daughter started crying
