finally watched Lightyear with my son and I cannot get over how much certain scenes look like they were made with AI. but I suspect the inverse is true, and a lot of gen AI was actually trained on this movie.
Anyway, another show where my decision to overlook the flaws in the hopes that the season finale will absolve them doesn't pay off
And while I'm on a tangent, how come the eyeball squid alien has human-style irises? Even if it's part of some sort of parasite crypsis strategy, how would it have evolved them? At least xenos were bioengineered to target Engineers and/or humans
"Because it IS a guy in a suit!" - Yes I know that, but so were most of the xenos in the first two movies and it never looked as jarring there. Is it just poor cinematographic decisions? Not enough practice on the part of the choreographer or stunt actor?
Why does the non-CG Xenomorph in Alien Earth look so crappy? Every single shot it's in just screams 'guy in a suit', from the way it moves its head to the way its skin deforms around the joints.
NEW VIDEO! FINALLY! Beast Wars Is Shakespeare: The Value of Garbage Media
I truly hope this one was worth the wait, because I've never made something so huge. Massive thanks to Dr. Drew Lichtenberg for sitting down with me for this one. youtu.be/8y_KsFaHRQk?...
some kind of heavy vehicle with a blue trailer and a red cab, just like a certain transforming robot you may have heard of. that's right, Road Ranger from Gobots.
IT'S HIM!! #TFNation2025
Open the breast gynoid, Mark
I love opening the breast gynoid
welcome back to SCUM'D... for our next prank, we swapped the off-switch on Lord Vader's light saber with a button that just shifts the blade color into the invisible spectrum
A photograph of the original Transformers G1 back-of-box art by David Schleinkofer, taken from his Flickr account.
David Schleinkofer on Flickr (16y ago): "Tacos Por Vida and vjzuylen, Thanks guys for the kind words about the Transformers art. When the art director first gave me one of the toys to look at and I tried to open it up and then close it back up into it's original car or jet shape I found it difficult to do and commented to my wife that these toys are never going to catch on with kids because it's hard to open. MAN ! was I ever wrong. David S.β
Just found out David Schleinkofer passed away last week & I'm so glad I once got to tell him what his Transformers box art meant to me. Incidentally this is what he had to say about that piece at the time, I thought it was pretty funny:
yes yes but which FACTION is hiring?
seeing the old Dakko-chan Takara logo will never not be jarring
2025 me: my favorite transformer since childhood is Cliffjumper, his outlook on life has informed my own and made me the man I am today
1984 Bob Budiansky: *another* red car robot? ugh, fine. he's uhhh, he's a brave but impatient little autobot with ummm, a gas cannon that makes metal shatter. NEXT
One of my favorite things about Transformers is its deepest mythology was just haphazardly cobbled together on the fly and its most ardent fans would not take offense at calling that out, but rather, theyβd celebrate it.
people are giving you shit for this but I fully agree. 'gaming' should be a hidden, shameful activity, like masturbating or daydrinking or writing op-eds for The Guardian
Extreme closeup of the Killerbody Optimus Prime helmet with armor parts and face plate removed.
POV: Optimus Prime removes his faceplate and leans in to kiss you
he sure is
I bet I could spot a real-life transformer before it changed into a robot
An old four panel comic of mine. First panel is a guy standing behind a shockingly realistically rendered muscle car. I won't lie to you. I traced that bad boy. The guy's waving and saying "Hey, like my new car?" The back of some other guy's head is in the bottom right of the frame. Remember this layout, it doesn't change in the next three panels. Foreground guy goes: Yeah. Where did you get it? Panel 2: Car guy's leaning on the hood of the car now. He goes It's one of the Transformers. This one died of some car disease and I stole it from its own funeral. Foreground guy goes For real? Panel 3: Car guy: Yeah. I just got in and drove it away. Foreground guy: Did they try to stop you? Panel 4: Car guy: One guy did but I said I was driving this dude to heaven and he was like "Forgive me." Foreground guy: Was it Optimus Prime? Car guy: Yeah, I think that was Optimus Prime.
aw man
Thinking of becoming a Grendizer guy
A screenshot of a tweet that reads "Elon Musk is considering buying Hasbro to secure the rights to D&D"
Transformers survived Michael Bay only to be killed by this guy
GOBOTS are better. More versatile.
Incredible. Bandai released a stupid Gunpla NFT metaverse thing, but they didnβt secure or encrypt the filesβ¦so there are now just full-on trade-secret CAD files out there of MG kits, including unreleased ones, ready for 3D printing or bootlegging
Michael Bay should make a Transformers movie where they have sex and destroy most of an urban area in the process
some of Frank Welker and Don Messick's finest work on that cartoon
