Sorry to get political again on the silly Nintendo fangirl account but hey gang: when do we start really worrying about this shit. Are we there yet? Feels like we are there.

America Goddam.
Well, we know who this on-tour trio is.
For the past 10 days, families in Kiryat Shmona have been under constant fire. Our team in Israel is delivering hot meals to seniors who have no safe access to food. Our teams across the Middle East are working around the clock to feed families caught in the middle of this crisis.

Itβs Long Covid Awareness Day (which I think should be the Ides of March, for reasons that will become clear.)
Some of you have heard this before. But I wanted to share my Long Covid story, because I think you should hear it.
On my birthday in November 2022, I woke up with Covid.
Gentile Americans, please know this. The far-right government in Israel doesnβt give one single shit about American Jews, but they fucking love evangelical Christians.
Text Today, I signed an executive order establishing the first-ever Mayorβs Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs and appointing the brilliant Taylor Brown as Director. Queer New Yorkers deserve to be not just protected, but celebrated in this city. Together, we will fight for their right to live a life of dignity, safety, and unabashed pride.
Telling that when the Empire and Palpatine took over, the Senate kept chugging along just enough to feign the people into believing they had representation and democracy.
Jesus. Fucking. Christ. This kid wants to get out of detention in time for his school spelling bee. What the fuck are we doing.

When you hear it said
(and you will hear it said)
that the number of people
still wearing face masks
in the year 2026
is genuinely concerning,
kindly and firmly agree,
for it is genuinely concerning
in the year 2026
that the number of people
still wearing face masks
is so low

A ladder placed safely on the ground. Five black cats sit upon the ladder like they're in some kind of children's story about black cats. The text reads: Friday the 13th when you always land on your feet. If you are not a cat: Place your ladder on a firm, flat surface. Always have a spotter.
Five black cats upon a ladder sat,
something something always have a spotter.

Things we want people to know. 6 years after the start* of the COVID-19 pandemic. *The day the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. This was not the date of the first case.
Itβs not just a cold. We wish it were just a cold. We would not keep talking about it if so. Since 2020, doctors, scientists, and millions of people who have had COVID-19 have learned that it can cause permanent damage to multiple organ systems within your body, leave you disabled and unable to do the things you love, and significantly harm your quality of life. A cold cannot disable or kill you the way COVID-19 can.
We know a lot more about prevention than we did back then. We all remember when we thought maybe weβd be ok as long as we were 6 feet away from sick people; that masks worked one way but not the other; and more. But just like with all new viruses and scientific study, we learned more as there was more time to study and observe, and we now know that wearing masks and keeping cleaner air are key to protecting ourselves and others. Now that we know better, we can (and should) better protect ourselves and others.
We understand the frustration about vaccines, but they are still extremely important. We all remember when vaccines were first made available, and it wouldβve been great if that was the end of the pandemic. It wasnβt. And a lot of people have gotten frustrated and have given up on vaccination. Itβs true, the virus that causes COVID-19 changes (which is why, like the annual flu shot, we need to get updated COVID-19 vaccines each year), and the vaccines we have now will not eliminate COVID-19 on their own. But they are still very effective at preventing serious illness and death, so even though they are not the one quick solution to the pandemic we all wish they were, they are still extremely important, and we should all stay up to date.
This week marked the anniversary of the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Weβve summarized our thoughts a bit below, but tl;dr: Unfortunately, COVID-19 is still with us, & although we may be tired of hearing about it, itβs extremely important to continue to take steps to protect ourselves & others.
We are all very tired of it (or at least I am), but pretending itβs gone is not going to help anyone stay healthy. Lots of us are tired of hearing about it (and honestly, weβre tired of talking about it), but we keep talking about it because we know how devastating it can be, weβve met people whose lives are forever changed for the worse because of getting COVID-19, and lots of people who are now living with Long COVID say they wish they had known how bad it could be. So weβll probably keep talking about it, because we want you to be healthy and happy, and even if you are tired of it (thatβs fair), we hope you take some steps to protect yourself and others so you can all live long, healthy lives.
In other words, weβre know youβre tired of hearing about COVID-19. Weβre tired of hearing about it too. But ignoring it does not help it to go away, so please continue to take protect your health.
Thank you for your service fighting

The Strait of Hormuz is open for transit
I wondered when it started! Nothing at 5:45 when I stepped out to get my Smith Brothers. An inch on our vehicle at 6:55. Nothing in Auburn when I got to work at 7:30.
Doubtless I will meet him some day in Sto'Vo'Kor, as well as meeting every warrior on your list."

Sisko let out a small chuckle. "A knight, yes, though the title was honorary. He did forge his own sword for the ceremony, and included chunks of meteorite."
Martok gave a hearty laugh. "Then it is good his name is still spoken. He had a warrior's heart!
There was a turn of the 21st century Earth author, Sir Terry Pratchett, who once wrote, βDo you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?β
"Sir?" Martok asked. 'Does that means he was one of your knights? A warrior?"
JG Hertzler as General Martok, wearing Klingon battle gear and with one eye, leans against a desk.
His door chimed, and Benjamin Sisko paused.
"Come", he said quietly.
General Martok entered, at first with his usual swagger, but his mood shifted when he saw Sisko's face.
"The casualty report?"
Sisko nodded. "I like to read the list privately. Read each name aloud.

Captain Sisko sat at his desk and heaved a sigh as he scanned the PADD in his hand. It seemed to weigh much more than usual, the gravitas of the casualty list making his hand sag. The list was too long for him to read each service record, but he paused to read each name aloud.
