The KING of Ladysmith

Almost completed my model of Barclay 1448 "King" in its 1972-76 Ladysmith Washery condition.

Built from a Hattons/Accurascale 'Carbon', with new buffers, an RT models giesl, W4 peckett cab sides and new buffer discs

The fix is saying that he learned the word the other day and is like a child who has to repeat every word he learns

I take the photo as usual, then stick some filters on it to make them look older.
Then I edit the photo onto a blank page, waffle some text next to it in the style of a book.
Finally I rotate the photo horizontally and vertically to make it look like it's a photo of a book page taken at an angle

Hunslet 3595 "Silverband" got an outing today as part of Threlkeld Quarry Railway's 15 year celebration

It's my first time seeing it running, and it's absolutely amazing

From my experience, greasing fishplates.
With a team, it's not so bad, but on your own or only 2-3 people it can get a bit tedious

Worse when it's hot and you've got hundreds of midges buzzing around you

Plus, black jack grease is a sticky, dirty and annoying

This is just the halfway point of my modelling of 1448 King

I'm probably just gonna leave her like this until I get all the parts to finish King

Alternate universe where Carbon was sent up to Ladysmith instead of King

Every part of this is awesome

The yellow one was cheaper cus it had a dummy chassis

That's since been taken out and been replaced by a heavily modified Kato chassis

Also, here's the rest of my haul:

2 of my model show pickups from today. The yellow one was £10 whilst the blue was £20.

Both now run super smoothly

47832 was also there on I believe pathfinding(?) duty for Storm Eowyn

37884 "Cepheus" tows 769431 up north to Bonnyton Depot, Kilmarnock for a bodywork exam

Apparently it started its journey around 12 days ago, but failed at Carnforth

The second is based on this crossing at Whitehaven Harbour

It's designed to fit an 0-4-0 and a single wagon

The crossing signs were printed out and mounted onto card

The first is based upon the yard throat of Ladysmith

This one's designed specifically to be able to fit an austerity

(You can see in the 2nd photo I haven't finished up cleaning the rear yet)

The 2 new display pads are the Ladysmith Washery throat and a Whitehaven Harbour crossing
