This rule is horrible.
Ppl will lose housing and /or their families. The housing crisis response system cannot absorb this influx.

🚨 STATEMENT on HUD’s #MixedStatus Proposal: Cruel, Costly & Counterproductive

The administration is trying to blame immigrants for Trump's failure to address the housing crisis 🔽

The real “exploitation” here is Scott Turner trying to dupe people into blaming immigrants for the housing crisis he's in charge of fixing.

A thread on how our current laws actually work, and why getting rid of them will cost everyone more time, money, and misery:

Thanks to Trump’s new proposal, some immigrant families may need to decide whether to split up to stay housed, or face eviction and homelessness together. NHLP’s Exec. Director @shamusroller.bsky.social dug deeper with @npr.org’s Jennifer Ludden:

"One potential result...is actually a reduction in total rents paid. Having an undocumented person in the house pushes a family’s monthly rent higher, since that person doesn’t get a subsidy. Many housing programs rely on those higher rent payments to fund some of their operations."
