I don’t think it’s asking too much to have my writing just be writing and not fuel for one fire or another… but alas

how am I supposed to write my little nuanced “actually everything is kind of more muddy than we think” memoiristic essays when I feel like so much rests on me opposing the dominant narrative. It’s hard to take a nuanced stance when you feel like you’re trying to balance out an avalanche

I’m so out of practice writing fiction now that it feels like pulling teeth, but I can’t continue any of my nonfiction WIPs because I have a renewed sense of protectiveness towards some of the players that keeps me from progressing…
