I like simplistic designs when they are still actually colorful and not overly cold and utilitarian

It honestly kinda seems like he wishes the company actually did make the site into what neurotic chronically online weirdos say it is
For me it was probably standard.site, though what I'm most personally excited for is probably sprk.so, in spite of my normal hatred for mobile-centric TikTok/Instagram-type stuff
you could always start an actual blog
I think a lot of it is that AT has now really shown that it can be good for a lot more than just Twitter-style microblogging, in spite of how a lot of Fedi people have talked about it
Yeah I would really like to see the main client just do this and start mostly discouraging people from making long threads
Waiting for departure 10 #pixelart
music: Krosia - Dive
yeah good point honestly
I like the one without the background slightly more personally
The people who like to talk about "this site" are now going to start sounding a bit odd to my ears
Holy shit this actually looks unbelievably cool. Looks like something that a really idealistic mid 2000s person would come up with when imagining what technology would be like in the future
"I genuinely do care" he says while ignoring the amount of genuine progress being done by community members and instead just pretending like it's still 2024
If their genre tagging system was more like this then I would probably use RYM a bit more
not actually much of a Digimon fan but this is imo one of the greatest pop songs ever made
looks like something from a late 2000s flash game
congrats on showering
If the reason for the removal is what I think it is then I would honestly suggest just forking it. Regardless of whatever issues the creator has, it's a genuinely great tool that's worth building upon, not to mention that the code is public domain
I'm glad I've just been calling it 'AT' lately lol
Yeah I was mainly thinking that they should just fork it. Like I maybe get wanting to distance themselves from the drama but PDSls is genuinely such a good tool + the code is public domain
The days when being genuinely worried about this company would likely get you called an overly-paranoid crank are getting more horribly awkward to look back on every day
how to make witchsky look good
Wow that really does look a lot like Discord. If you showed someone these screenshots without context I wouldn't blame them if they initially thought it was just Discord
I'm not sure this would be the best idea since people could have wildly different opinions about the post they're sharing rather than just straightforwardly positive. I feel like it could lead to more polarizing posts ending up on people's feeds, which I imagine is not really what you want
Do you think you could give people the option to turn off post metrics on Reader if they want to? Ignoring whatever other opinions I have about engagement metrics, I personally think feeds just look nicer without them
Something I think would be a cool idea is to add standard.site integration via a 'documents' tab on people's profiles. I think that would be a really good way to demonstrate AT's distributed nature to people
Imo this should take the form of typing in which tags you would want in a feed rather than a prompt. I think encouraging a more tag-based culture again would actually be a more elegant solution than this "ask the algorithm" thing
you can use something like witchsky.app if you prefer square icons
