Weβre still working away, just havenβt had the drive to post every week! π«
We have planned a milestone aimed at the end of the year to have very buggy gameplay. I have a problem with polishing too much, so instead I'll be yeeting out code as fast as possible!

- Multiplayer is on hold but in mind while continuing with single player.
- Direct control of crew member is working well again.
- The player can easily enter/exit from the ship and back into space.
- Same as entering/exiting to the pilot seat and controlling the ship.

Concept art and 3D model progression of a cryosleep pod inspired by the shape of a Moso bamboo shoot. The image shows the real bamboo reference on the left, a mid-stage illustration with a person inside the open pod in the center, and a finalized 3D model of the closed pod on the right.
- Sorry for the lack of updates! Iβll try get back to weekly updates again. #gameDev
- @gak has been deep in working through #multiplayer and is starting to get back to gameplay.
- @Jart has been working on more #concept #art and UI ideas. Hereβs a sneak peek.

- Jetpack now uses absolute/camera movement instead of relative to astronaut angle. Much easier to control.
- Ships are now replicated to clients correctly.
- Fixed jerky movement after a collision.
- Fixed janky scroll wheel for zoom.
- A little bit more work on slowchop_console.

### 2025-06-06 v0.0.103
- Made multiplayer prediction heaps smoother, with the cost of a bit of client side latency. Will probably tweak over time. Highest priority is to not have crazy multiplayer jerkiness.

Bit of an experimental week! #gameDev #bevy
- Do not make a MMO.
- Experimenting with koto and console. Prototyped running a koto βsystemβ from bevy.
- Adjusted all rigid body densities to be more realistic.
- Info/mass is shown on hover.

A space scene showing two small objects connected by a glowing pathfinding route, with spokes radiating outward like star systems or satellite nodes.
2025-05-09 v0.0.54
- Experimented with integrating koto into slowchop console, and removing all existing parsing code. Pretty neat so far.
- Had to rewrite pathfinding because it was getting hairy. Looks cool showing the A* work its magic.

A clean, futuristic, sci-fi style fridge called the FrostGuard S-950H is on the left. It has a window on the side showing vacuum sealed foods.
On the right, three food items are shown in vacuum-sealed packs:
Meat Pie β a flaky pastry filled with meat and gravy.
Vegemite Toast β toasted bread with Vegemite.
Fairy Bread β soft bread with butter and colorful sprinkles.
In the middle is the expected rendered tile for Grabby Aliens, showing a 128px icon of a Vegemite jar and toast above the top of the fridge.

A futuristic space scene with a dark, heavily-armored spacecraft featuring intricate mechanical details. A large circular hatch emits a bright, glowing light, contrasting with the dark metallic surroundings. A figure in a space suit, with a reflective helmet visor, is floating near the glowing section. The background consists of deep space with scattered stars.

A stylized cartoon astronaut with an elongated, flexible body floats freely in space, arms spread wide as if embracing the stars. Their round, expressive face is visible through a transparent helmet, illuminated with a warm glow. The background is a vast starry sky transitioning into a subtle blue gradient at the bottom, suggesting the edge of a planet's atmosphere. A long, ribbon-like tether extends from the astronaut, curving elegantly through the scene, adding a sense of movement and weightlessness.
A small stylized cartoon astronaut in a dark spacesuit with a glowing helmet floats near a massive spacecraft, illuminated by a large circular airlock or docking port that emits a soft, white light. The ship's exterior is dark, metallic, and angular, with various panels, seams, and small green lights dotting its surface. The scene has a sense of scale, with the astronaut appearing tiny compared to the immense structure. The perspective is slightly tilted, adding to the feeling of weightlessness in the vast emptiness of space.
A stylized cartoon astronaut in a sleek, form-fitting spacesuit with dark shoulder pads floats near the entrance of a large, circular airlock. Their helmet emits a warm glow, softly illuminating their featureless face. The airlock is lined with small circular details, and its interior glows with a pale greenish light. The background consists of dark metallic walls with angular panels and dim green lights, emphasizing the vast, industrial nature of the spacecraft. The astronautβs body language suggests anticipation or hesitation as they drift away from the illuminated opening.

Not much visually to show off at the moment.
Working on path finding between ships and asteroids. Very basic to start with (your crew will probably accidentally get lost in space or die a lot).

I should be more productive but this is too fun.
10,000 astronauts floating around while I smash my ship through them. They're invulnerable so they bounce right off.
Decent frame rate considering the entity count!
