Claude Sonnet last August, however, added some plausible looking types that were all absolutely wrong.
The test that convinced me that the sea had changed was when I pointed Claude Opus 4.5 at a hand-rolled monadic recursive-descent-parser for a significant-whitespace language of my own design for which there was no grammar and asked it to convert to TypeScript. It did that and fixed the bugs.
Myth: LLM-assisted coding means everyone is forced to use The Popular Framework forever.
I discovered, rather by accident, that some models are quite capable of evolving my vanilla direct-to-DOM dependency-free evergreen abomination.
I donβt know if Iβm ADHD, but the stories of the lived experiences of people with ADHD are strangely relatable.
Code snippet demonstrating the `toSorted()` method, showcasing sorting of arrays without mutating the original arrays.
JavaScript now has non-mutating array methods β¨
`toSorted()`, `toReversed()`, `toSpliced()`, and `with()` return new arrays instead of modifying the original.
No more [...arr].sort() to avoid side effects.

Whether you can sell that product is the wildcard. Thereβs going to be a lot of supply for the demand.
And the pay-to-play model is a race to the bottom. Models are data and data leaks. The CapEx dumped into training has to be recovered quickly because tomorrow, inference on your home computer will be the price of the computer.
The economics are also not so clearly tilted toward rich getting richer. There is a pay to play aspect, but if you were middle class when you got laid off, because the company thought they didnβt need you, you also might be able to build a product of your own without VC before COBRA runs out.
warning: the clocks change in the US this weekend. you care about that if you're in the EU or UK because we *don't* spring forward yet, so all your calls and meetings with US folks will be off by one for a couple of weeks
Paternal grandmother was a single working mom in the 50s, daughter of Dutch immigrants, an animator, member of the ScreenΒ WritersβΒ Guild, and responsible for some words that BugsΒ Bunny said, purportedly made the owl blink in Bambi, and died young. Maternal G.M. was Irish mother of 6 and died young.
Theyβre the same picture.
Paternal grandfather was a WWII army veteran, son of immigrants coming from Ukraine and Hungary, and spent what remained of his life drilling oil wells in Venezuela until cancer took him in the throat. Maternal grandfather designed the turbopumps for Saturn V and who-knows-what-else at Skunk Works.

Consider: a compile-to-JavaScript language that is JavaScript except typeof 3.14 == "number" and typeof 2 == "bigint".
The culture in JavaScript is due to change since support for bigint (1n) has become pervasive. At Agoric, we use bigints to the exclusion of floats. To that end, JSON needs a rethink. For OCapN, we are promoting a CBOR mapping that covers the JSON model plus bigint and bytes. Also kriskowal.com/yay
Friend of mine did all this and also had LLM Jepsen it. Iβm spending some of my personal tokens taking my old CASK idea way too far. I posted this as a subtoot because 1. itβs true 2. obviously everyone else is too 3. specifically someone.
Dear @epopt.bsky.social,
It appears I am building a database.
Fine, but what about βon-premiseβ?
It has come to my attention that this is a reference to the lobsters in Strossβs Accelerando, and of course the obvious pun.
