A low woodland view across a soft carpet of bright green moss covering a fallen log. The moss forms a short, velvety layer only a few millimetres tall, spreading smoothly across the wood like living felt. Rising above the surface are many slender reddish stalks, moss sporophytes, each topped with a small green capsule where spores develop. The capsules lean slightly in different directions, giving the scene the appearance of a miniature forest of delicate stems growing above the mossy carpet. The background woodland fades into gentle blur, suggesting damp shaded habitat where moss and other bryophytes thrive on decaying wood.
Very short, velvety moss on a fallen log in Kingβs Wood today, Corby.

You look like you need a painting by one of my favourite Irish artists, Gerard Dillon [1916-1971]. He was revolutionary in Irish art in being depicting his homosexuality at a time when it was illegal. Decriminalisation would not take place until 22 years after his death! [1]

Dramatic shot of Female Link standing her ground, legs stretched back against a flow of dust and debris. She holds a sword aloft that reveals a demon creature. The sky and lights are red, and her hair and skirt and hat are blown about in the wind.

I know this has been talked about to death already but I want to talk about Chuck Close! He was known for making huge photorealistic portraits. One day at the height of his career he had a sudden seizure caused by a spinal blood clot that left him paralyzed from the neck down.
