New anticancer compounds redistribute intracellular copper pools.
X-ray fluorescence imaging of hepatic cancer cells at beamline ID21 revealed the intracellular distribution of copper, elucidating the mechanism of action of these compounds.

Using high-resolution synchrotron ΞΌCT scans from the @esrf.fr, we were able to digitally segment each bone of the skulls (shown here in different colors), allowing their full anatomy to be studied in detail. (3/6)
Scientists from the University of Groningen and the ESRF have demonstrated how a protective polymer coating can overcome obstacles that make high-energy-density #batteries not available commercially yet.
