Best WoW book, my absolute favorite. Stackpole did a great job with the depictions of the characters.

With that said, farewell Rockstar, it's been a blast.
After 11.5 years with the studio, working with many talented individuals who all shared my passion in video games, today was my last shift, after I made the hard decision to look to the future, make the necesary arrangements and then hand in my notice.
I'm nervous, but hopeful for the future.
Huh, the Battle(.)net launcher has controller support, I never realized that until today.
Seems the new "Catch-Up" system can be used to get factionless characters out of their starting zone. I was able to get my Wandering Isle Pandaren to Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
Already reported the bug, surprised it made it to retail.

Blizz would be hard pressed to make their mtx as bad as PSO2.
People's issues with MTX is not a convo I want to have though, as people won't agree. My issue the last couple days has just been people dooming over Hearthsteel, and spreading their perceival of it as fact.
Anyway - That's just my own interpretation based upon Blizzard's own claims per the artical they released, the current functionality of the store, and current EU guidelines on mtx.
People being sus, I understand, people not liking mtx, I also understand. But their reasoning expressed tracks IMO.
But what about the currency merely being a means of obfiscating real-world monetary value? Well that would go against EU guidelines on microtransactions. Are we already forgetting earlier in the year with the Horse game? ec.europa.eu/commission/p...
Ever notice buying WoW tokens is individual payments, that you can't just select to bulk buy multiple, with each payment taking a while and requiring confirmation? Imagine Blizzard releases a fancy chair that you want multiple of. Going through that purchase for each chair would be tedious.
The doomerism regarding Hearthsteel doesn't surprise me, but some of the people assuming the worst about it and spreading that interpretation as fact does.

It is unfortunate that there's so many things with FFXIV that make people feel the need to mod it to fix. But in some ways I feel people got carried away with mods as well, Mare was a terrible idea, security wise.
So Mare Synchronos got shut down for Final Fantasy XIV, huh? I'm amazed it lasted this long.
...Especially as previously it had already been shown it could be used to execute code on other people's computers and deliver a malicious payload.
Probably for the best it died this way.
