#Stoneoftheday is a bit of mystery today. Could be sandstone but it is very grey in different lights, maybe granite, maybe tuff. I picked it up because it looks like a map to somewhere.

#Stoneofthenight Quartzite. Pretty. Hard. Resistant. Like my mum. Sheβd look for very small ones like baby toes, pocket them & line them up beneath her statue of the Virgin Mary. Our house, so full of stones on the front step, the hallway and hearth, that the sea could be a sudden visitor.
#StoneoftheDay today is nice! Spelled Gneiss. It means spark. And you can see the little sparks in its body! Itβs the Bowie of rocks formed under pressure. This one is from Saltburn by the Sea. Itβs got a bit of a rock goblinβs finger nail vibe to it.
I'm totally OK with being called woke. It just means that I'm showing off my green flags. Happy to follow others with green flags.

Did you think Iβd forgotten #Stoneoftheday ? Of course not. Itβs just been a bit of a Monday-Thursday. Size is definitely not everything when it comes to stones. Look at the planetary swirls of this wee one. And on the reverse you can clearly see a cheeky side profile face made by the veining.
Stone of the Day: Devilβs Toenails! Or GryphaeaThis is a particularly lovely little cluster family of Gryphaea found walking with my sis. My dad called them Monkeys nuts! That was his humour. They are thought to be good luck, a cure or clippings from the a fallen angelβs pedicure!
Stone of the day: sparkling pebble from #Ballyliffin in #Donegal. Found on the anniversary of losing my amazing mum Bridget. Kept by my bedside. What I love - the sparkles and the flaws, feels cool and gritty in the palm. Where do you keep your stones?
Stoney Stoney Stoney Stoney stones.
Hi Bluesky! Do you have favourite stones? These are the hags. They rock!
Also contenders for my favourite stones. Itβs hard to be pinned down to just one favourite stone. I particularly like the way this one looks at you!
This is possibly my favourite stone!
This is my aspirational hair style!
Hello Blueys! Iβve got a lot of gratuitous self promotion to catch up on since Twittageddon. This is my book! Itβs called #HowSaintsDie! Itβs about 10 year old girl, Ellie, her fisherman father, her lost mother and a mythical wolf from the sea. Itβs set from Halloween to Christmas! ππΊπ
Hello! This is clearly an ogre hole in my local woods!
