There are alternatives to EVs that have been on the market for a while. I had a 2005 Escape hybrid that saved me a ton when I sat in traffic commuting to the Hill. I wasn’t “privileged” — just transferred saved gas money to a car payment!! We were at over $4.50/gal then!
