Hats off to Mitch Marsh for his willingness to take a direct hit to the box to get Smudger in the team
Hopefully the selectors take note and this kind of hair brained scheme won't be needed in the future

A photo that appears to have a "gettyimages" watermark but the watermark is actually painted directly on the bridge.
This watermark graffiti by street artist Mathieu Tremblin is, like, the best thing ever.
It feels like sentiment is turning a little against AI coding.
Or at least people seem to be realising that AI isn't going to be writing all the code and humans will still be required.

My Following page is my favourite thing that I've built in a while
It's pretty simple, it fetches feeds that I follow in my recommendations.opml and then displays the most recent from each feed in reverse order

A WIRED subscription for $5 for the first year was too good to resist. They're
writing some great stories lately

CNY 2025
This post is getting up towards 1000 characters, so it'll get split into a thread and the image will be attached to the first post.
All the basic posting stiff works so I'm happy for now. Will add more features as I go.
I can also do some nice things like have higher res images, use html styles like bold and italics (and whatever else I decide to add), and have posts longer than 300 characters.
The idea is simple, if Bluesky goes the same way as Twitter, I can easily swap out the integration to a new service, whilst also retaining all of my posts.
The more ephemeral interactions such as likes and reposts and comments can happen on Bluesky.
The simple answer is that it's a place where my thoughts and images can be posted and stored before being sent off to whichever social media site is popular right now (in this case it's Bluesky). When I post something it goes first to my blog, then it's cross posted to Bluesky.
Thank you I love you Dublin

Cool, thanks for sharing. Looks like I was wrong and likes and follows are also stored on the PDS so that's great! Not that I would do it but I can start to see now how you could create an alternate app view from the data
Dublin 2025. The photo really does sum up Dublin in a lot of ways

Trying to untangle Bluesky and ATProto is definitely tricky. My understanding is each users posts live on an ATProto personal data server, so that part and the lexicon that defines posts, as well as your profile, are all very much ATProto. Follows, feeds, lists are part of the app view, so Bluesky

Started reading the at proto/ Bluesky docs and starting to understand how the pieces fit together
While I think I could run my own pds and thatβd work today, I donβt think thereβs any way to move my data
Also, I think, your pds must manage your keys for you?
Preemptive pardons? Is that really a thing that is possible?
Trump launching a meme coin days before becoming president again really sets the tone for the next four years
Debugging serverless functions is such a pita. Satisfying when done though
