This is actually a really apt metaphor. If they'd said it's being wasted, defrauded, and abused they'd have been spot on. Sorta close, but also entirely wrong.

My favorite version of this is when I'm doodling in public and someone comes by to pick out one scribble that's unappealing. Idr asking and I'm not sure why it's even important to single out this one drawing that doesn't match whatever they imagined.

I've been thinking about making a screensaver that would stat files and show me random ones with a modify date beyond 5-10 years. Remind me about old curiosities.
