they’re SO expressive and still manage to avoid feeling like fuckin. pixar or dreamworks characters lmao. even if they speak to you they still feel like animals and its an immaculate feeling.

these themes and portrayals would be enough to hook me on their own, they’re genuinely so good lmao.

all that to say though, the opening set of quests and first boss fight are fantastic still. a core theme of soulframe is nature and our relationships to animals, AND I LOOOOVE THAT SHIT. and DE puts a LOT of work into making the animals you interact with feel special.

quest progression is also awkward. my friend i was playing with had a quest Very early on thats core to progression that required in-game night time. notably, my faction i chose did not have that restriction. we had to go dick around for 20 irl minutes to kill *one* weak enemy to progress her story.

gameplay is fun enough but definitely lacks expression early on. thats *fine* but i feel the game takes longer to expand your options than it should? time based crafting returning from warframe was definitely unwelcome lmfao.

will touch on combat more after my second session but it IS still fun.

the scenic views have been gorgeous so far. especially some of the ways the environment is framed after coming out of like, a cave. and the skyboxes, so pretty.

enemy designs range from “interesting armor” to “oh god what is that and why does it got such a sculpted ass”

okay unorganized extended early soulframe thoughts after sleeping on it.

the Digital Extremes charm is visible at basically all moments of playing the game. the visual identity of the game is also very cohesive and compelling, despite at a glance risking looking generic.

oogh the “i hope im not a bad person” anxiety kicking my ass while trying to sleep just feels cruel.

tumblr post from mouse-wife saying: ive been putting it off for way too long because its frustrating and embarrassing but i really need help getting a new computer. my desktop has always been barely enough to handle the streaming i do to make a living but its only gotten worse with time, bluescreening and disconnecting from the internet completely at random. i really need to figure out a replacement before it becomes unusable. i want to replace it with a laptop (theres a few reasons i want a laptop over a desktop but tldr i want a computer that isnt stuck in the very bad household that i live in) and a good laptop will be very expensive especially with the price of computer parts these days. the one i have my eye on is ~$2400 and comparable options that still fit what i want to do are going to be at least 2000. and thats all assuming there arent any changes in availability and pricing. this is more money than ive ever tried to fundraise for anything and its not for anything lifesaving, but i would feel a lot more secure knowing my primary way of connecting with everyone i know and source of income is A) not falling apart and B) not extremely difficult to transport. until i reach this goal unlimited slots for scene pngtuber comms will be available on my ko-fi. i also plan on doing more mediashare streams and larger marathons on my twitch channel to help work towards this goal. itd mean a lot to me if you could help out and share this post! thank you!
