Both! Depends on the elixir. I was excited to have enough violets this year to make a dream elixir.
I just drink it! It goes well with tonic water and a sprig of thyme. Spruce tips are edible and have a ton of health benefits but I'm not convinced they stick around when you soak them in vodka lol
