Am I an oddball if:
Before I even think about attending a new convention, I go on Google Maps to look at the venue, look at the con hotel, surrounding hotels, and see how to get to the venue from the airport/train station?
Does anyone else do this?
I remember reading a fanfic way back in the day that had a similar scenario...

This feels like a bad revival of the whole "Main hotel or bust" mentality.
Even moreso since Orlando's Hyatt Regency looks like it's in a centralized location versus surrounding hotels.
Also... the other hotels may have pools too?
1. What the hell are you thinking, attendees, assuming this would work or be a good idea?
2. There are like 3 or 4 other hotels glued to the convention center, can't you book one of those?
It does not need a 4th movie. Leave the franchise be.
Also I am glad I never got into scrolling through vast swathes of Reddit.

If we want to criticize a con for its hotel booking procedure, let's talk about NFC. It's manual. Like "registration team manually assigns rooms based on attendee preference."
You should see the reactions when I tell the British that I drink tea with no milk or sugar added to it.
Me having to learn how to occasionally adopt this habit and philosophy instead of dividing things up was painful. I'm an accountant.

Also, don't tell me that the other nearby hotels don't have a pool that can serve as like an alternate spot...
