Two years ago @todayshow.com published my reported essay about the current conversation around divorce and women's pursuit of happiness. If you like this essay, my memoir CAMOUFLAGE dives deeper into these themes using a backdrop of my experiences as a military spouse.

My first AWP conference was a whirlwind of excellence and inspiration. Wise writers sharing their wisdom. Literary citizenship at its best!
Thanks, Leslie!! π₯°
In 2024 I attended the Nonfiction Writers Conference, where I pitched my book to agents on a Zoom with over 80 people. Thx to that session, I signed with my agent.
Iβm thrilled that my memoir earned a Silver Nonfiction Book Award from the Nonfiction Authors Association, the host of that conference!
My first AWP. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. The panels, the books, the connections. I met writers Iβve only known virtually, and I spent the entire conference buzzing with inspiration. I wrote about my AWP takeaways in my latest Substack.

On this International Womenβs Day, Iβm celebrating these women writers who signed their books for me at AWP in Baltimore. If you donβt have these books, you should.
Dear women who write,
I read you.
I see you.
I hear you.
I support you.
Write on.

AWP: So many amazing people. So many amazing panels. So many amazing photos. More later but for nowβ¦what a blast Iβm having. Wish big, writers.
Hello, Baltimore. #awp2026
One year ago today, my life-changing news was announced. What a year itβs been! So thankful for my agent, my publisher, my editors, my writing community, my family, and everyone else who helped make this happen. I take nothing for granted.
Out of office reply set.
Car gassed up.
Weather reports scrutinized.
Snacks packed.
App downloaded.
AWP prep is almost done!
Iβm so grateful for all of the amazing reviews like this one that readers are leaving for CAMOUFLAGE. Reviews really help books get seen and help the right readers find them.
If youβve already left a review for CAMOUFLAGE, thank you. I appreciate you, readers!
New month.
New words.
New possibilities.
Welcome March.

I had a blast at my book signing at 2nd & Charles in Virginia Beach. I signed books, gave out red candy to match my book cover, and chatted with so many interesting people. Can't make it to an author event? You can purchase my military divorce memoir CAMOUFLAGE wherever books are sold.
Today I'm having a great conversation on the Eager to Please podcast, chatting about military life, divorce, setting boundaries, and finding my voice.

12 years ago a friend introduced me to the very cool world of trapeze. Yes, thatβs me. Yes, it was empowering. Yes, I felt like a badass. Highly recommend. πͺπ»
As I watch the Olympics, I feel for athletes competing while injured + enduring intense pressure. I wasnβt an Olympic athlete but my days as a swimmer were filled with injuries + pressure.
Two years ago I wrote for Grown and Flown about my life as an athlete.

Welcome to my podcast recording area!
Just finished a fun episode with a podcaster I love listening to. I never thought Iβd ever say I enjoy recording podcasts about my memoir/divorce/military life/writing life, but friends, itβs been a blast chatting about it all with podcasters.
Fun fact: I had to audition to narrate my audiobook! And yes, I got the job.
So if you'd rather listen to a book than read a print copy, you're in luck. My military divorce memoir CAMOUFLAGE is available wherever audiobooks are found. And I narrate it.
Gunner told me to tell you hi.
