Agreed. At least one generation. Probably many. Your father was not wrong.

I knew men who fought in ETO of WW2. Germany got the message. They prosecute them.

Sadly, the US has its own legions of them inside its borders. A nation once unified against them as a foreign enemy, now abides them.

Good point. Americans will have a religious enemy for at least a generation. Further, the strategy for this war from their side will be to attack the GCC’s (Gulf cooperation council-UAE Qatar, Oman, SA et al.) H2O and oil prod. to attack our economy thru worlds reliance on US $ as reserve currency.

Failure seems to be just another opportunity to change careers within this administration.

I’ve voted for you in the past. This is the dumbest idea a Dem could announce. You’re supposed to be the adult in the room.

The question was as much rhetorical as informational. Figured you meant they might attempt something that would have marginal effect, if any at all, but would put troops in harms way.

How would a force of 2500 hold a piece of ground like one of those islands with thousands of miles to attack them from. And how much help could they give in clearing the straight from attacks from that coastline…?

Precisely!

More than the 250k sent to Iraq when they needed 500k. More than 500K. Iran is larger than Iraq and Afghanistan put together.

Oh they’ll inflict pain more for a while after that. Their goal will be to decouple the dollar from petroleum. It’s the other gulf states that are going to pay the highest price.

But the best long run move would still be to pull out early before the defeat gets too big.

Maybe to allow release of Russian oil from sanction? And possibly worse, foster a dependence on it going forward…?πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

With you on that.

Good points. Further, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Oman have greater risks to (and reliance on) desalination plants and Iran will likely exploit this too.

Agreed, Israel has wanted this forever. But they cannot invade alone. Regime change can only happen with complete control of the country.

13.03.2026 03:48 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Original plans for the invasion forces for the Iraq war were 500K soldiers. But Rumsfeld didn’t want that many because then everybody in America would know somebody serving. So it was 250K instead.

Iran is bigger than Iraq + Afghanistan. It would take > 500K.

We won’t, and Israel won’t either.

Unless he’s thinking about nationalizing our oil production instead of letting private industry lease public lands to do it.

This is the same reason we’re at war now… Because the US didn’t want Mohammad Mosaddegh to nationalize Iran’s oil in 1953 and had him overthrown and installed the Shah.

And deaths of law enforcement. Breonna’s boyfriend was one of millions of Americans who own firearms. He just happened to miss. LEOs entering homes unannounced is eventually going to lead to the shooting and death of one or more of someone β€œNo-knocking” houses of armed homeowners.

I’ve long argued for a class in high school called β€œLife Math”. Too many graduate high school without even the basic knowledge of how much does an apartment cost? How much $ do I need to make to afford it, and a car? How do credit cards and mortgages work? What is compound interest? Etc…

Spot on. They never even tried to sell it. Now the longer that straight of Hormuz is shut down… Oof. And if Iran starts going after the desalination plants in Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman it could have catastrophic effects on the petrodollar and US dollar as the world’s reserve currency.

12.03.2026 03:43 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Exactly. We’ve been through this before, going back to 1950 in Korea, Viet Nam, 1955-1975, gulf war 1, 1991 (Justified. Goals achieved), Afghanistan, 2001-2023, and gulf war 2, 2003-2011. This time they didn’t even bother to attempt to lie is into this one. Benefits only Putin and 45. No US support.

We’re fighting the last war as usual. Strategically, our ballistic missiles are no match for their far more numerous cheaply made drones. The US is at war with Iran. Iran is at war with the US economy and US hegemony. Presently they have the edge.

He’s running on the separation of church and state. He believes his faith is strengthened by that separation. I’m not religious but i don’t think it hurts to have a very religious person standing FOR that separation in a state that is very religious.

Yup straw man. Misunderstanding of genetics and phenotype expression. Mules for example, are 99.9% sterile yet exhibit male and female phenotypes. Humans have a great variance in sexual genetic makeup, which create a variance in phenotypes. There are, in fact, intersex individuals, exhibiting both.
