This past Friday and Saturday I was riding my Harley and enjoying the nice weather. This morning I drove to work in this nasty white stuff!
Friday was glorious and long past due. Beautiful sunny day with temperatures about 60* with wind gusts to 30 or so. I got the bike out and did some riding and I was so happy. Supposed to be nearly as nice today but snow in the forecast again for Sunday and Monday π. Take what I can get!!!
Well hopefully that is not the case.
I wouldnβt complain too much. I only ride about 8 to 9 months a year and my yearly premium just arrived and has went up about $50 USD. I ride a Harley Switchback so itβs a cruiser and not a speed machine.
Today after lots of tests and laying awake at night worrying I heard the best news, I am cancer free!!! As a three time cancer survivor already I was seriously concerned when Drβs found more spots in a previous cancer location. I should have bought a lottery ticket!
Getting ready for the upcoming riding season. Pulled my timing cover to check my cam chain tensioner pads. Good news is the pads are in great shape. Bad news is I forgot to get a new timing cover gasket.
π¨BREAKING: Sen. Mark Kelly responds after Hegseth censured him and opened a retirement-grade review that could cut his retired rank/pay. Kelly cites 25 yrs Navy, 39 combat missions, 4 space missionsβcalling it intimidation of retirees. βI will fight this with everything Iβve got.β
The orange baboon is dumber than I gave him credit for when he accepted that βawardβ.
Camera?
Have you seen the Royal Enfield Flying Flea yet? I have only seen it through their press releases but I kind of like it.
At OSU waiting to go back for the procedure and hoping itβs not cancer again. I donβt think it is but being a three time cancer survivor makes everyone nervous when they find things.
I think electrification is going to change things eventually. It will take some time for technology and attitudes to catch up but I think itβs coming like it or not.
Good looking bikes. Iβm in the USA and will never get a chance at many of the bikes Europeans get. I feel cheated sometimes!
Midwest Ohio and itβs currently raining but forecast to change to snow tonight with up to 1β by Monday morning. This is terrible!
Looks good!
Mine is in a unheated outbuilding winterized and covered. Iβm not coordinated or brave enough to take on snow and ice, not to mention below freezing temperatures.
I wish I could, miserable weather here.
Starting to cool off and my Bernieβs love it but me not so much. I need to get some cold weather gear so I can keep riding!
I like the concept of electric motorcycles but the range just isnβt there yet and definitely interested in a larger displacement Himi.
I procrastinated just a touch too long. Someone bought it but she warned me that two other people were looking at it. She did steer me to a used Scram in another shop , 7K miles and same price. I might go look at it.
I found a brand new leftover Scram 411 for about half the cost of a new Himalayan 450. Iβll keep my Harley for long trips and the occasional trip to work but a smaller, easier to handle bike sounds good. I ride 35 to 45 minutes each way to work on back country roads, this is farm country.
Sadly enough, I think my riding season has come to an end for this year. The onset of freezing weather at night, rain and my lack of decent cold weather riding gear have sealed it. Hopefully itβs a short winter but the forecast doesnβt look promising.

You mean except for you!
These are the same drivers that throw a tantrum when motorcycles park in spots for cars. Iβve had that happen before.
I was on holiday all week but committed to doing home repairs including gutting a wall, reframing for a bigger exterior entry door and then installing said door (by myself). Iβm finally getting done in time to go back to work and the weather is finally turning nice againβ¦. figures! π
I hear you! Iβm getting ready to start cancer treatment for my 4th cancer. I canβt switch jobs or retire at this point. My wife doesnβt work and is a little younger than me so I have to work to keep her health insurance anyway.
Healthcare is the reason I am still working. Working to pay for healthcare insurance, meds and procedures is insane but who can afford to retire!

I love doing that thru the middle of the downtown areas of these small farming communities. Just closed store fronts early in the morning but you have to watch out for the police. Loud Harleyβs usually get a pass around here but sometimes they pull you over just to harass you.
